The average maximum rate on deposits of the top 10 Russian banks increased to 6.33%

According to the results of the third decade of September, the average maximum rate on deposits of ten Russian banks attracting the largest volume of deposits of individuals in rubles increased to 6.33%. This is the highest indicator since the third decade of August this year, follows from the data of the Bank of Russia.

In the second decade of the month, the average maximum rate was 6.15% – the same as in the first decade.

The list of banks under monitoring includes Sberbank, Tinkoff-Bank, VTB, Raiffeisenbank, Gazprombank, MKB, Alfa-Bank, FC Otkritie Bank, Rosselkhozbank and Promsvyazbank.

In September, the Central Bank raised the key rate to 6.75% from 6.5%, at the previous July meeting, the rate was raised by 100 points at once. This was done to contain rising inflation.
