The ban on the export of grain from Armenia to countries that are not members of the EAEU was extended for another 6 months. This decision was adopted during today’s session of the RA government.

According to the RA government’s draft decision “On applying a temporary ban on the export of a number of products from the Republic of Armenia to countries that are not members of the EAEU”, a temporary ban of a number of agricultural products, including wheat, meslin, barley, corn, buckwheat, sunflower seeds, is established for a period of 6 months. , in relation to the export of sunflower oil”, it is stated in the message.

The decision is aimed at ensuring the food security and stabilization of the economy of the Republic of Armenia, as the domestic production of these products does not meet the demand of the Republic of Armenia market, and this gap is filled mainly at the expense of import volumes.

The ban will not apply to goods imported to RA and exported from RA processed under the “re-export” customs procedure.
