BENGALURU: The bodies of two people who died of Kovid infection have been in the hospital mortuary for more than a year. The incident took place at the Employees State Insurance Corporation and Model Hospital in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru. According to hospital records, Durga Sumitra (40) and Muniraju (50) died on July 2 last year. The bodies of both were not handed over to family members. The bodies were cremated.

A year later, a hospital employee reported the incident to family members. Following the revelation of the incident, there has been a sharp rise in criticism of the hospital authorities’ negligence. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Rajajinagar BJP MLA Suresh Kumar has written to Karnataka Labor Minister A. Sivaram Hebbar seeking an order for a high-level inquiry into the matter.
