Within a week and a half: 10th graders at the Ohel Shlomo yeshiva quickly produced a wedding for a couple living in Colombia, the wedding was held last night (Tuesday) in the yeshiva’s ballroom thanks to the mobilization of citizens in the city and for now the couple lives in the yeshiva complex.

About a week and a half ago, tenth graders from the Bnei Akiva yeshiva “Ohel Shlomo” in Be’er Sheva learned about a couple of immigrants who immigrated from Colombia about two years ago, who should get married immediately after their conversion, but do not have the means to do so.

Immediately upon receiving the news, the class committee harnessed its yeshiva members, staff members and other people who had joined the agile fundraiser.

The yeshiva students managed to organize an impressive and dignified wedding. From the canopy and the wedding ring to the designed maps, everything is the contribution of business people in the city, all within a few days.

The canopy that took place last night at the Yeshiva Beit Midrash was conducted by Rabbi Baruch Gelman with the participation of the yeshiva rabbis and the rabbi of the community living in the city, Rabbi Israel Wurzman. The students and guests then gathered for a mitzvah meal in the yeshiva’s ballroom.

The groom, who is not yet fluent in the Hebrew language, expressed his great excitement in the Spanish language and thanked everyone for the impressive mobilization.

Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Rahamim Finish concluded: “Once again, the yeshiva members have proven that when they take on a task, they perform it for the best. We will continue to be a beacon of kindness and goodness for the benefit of the residents of Beer Sheva and the entire Negev.”
