Thiruvananthapuram – DNA test results submitted to the court show that the charred remains of the body found in the septic tank are the same as that of the murdered Sunitha. Sixth Additional District Sessions Judge K. Vishnu is considering the case. The prosecution’s case is that on August 3, 2013, Joy Antony beat his wife Sunita unconscious, poured kerosene on her and burnt her and cut her charred body into three pieces and dumped it in the septic tank of his house.

Due to the serious mistake made by DySP, the investigating officer, the prosecution raised the demand for the DNA test of the victim Sunitha in the court. The court accepted the prosecution’s request over the defense’s strong objection. The two daughters of the murdered Sunitha, Jomol and Jeenamol, were summoned to the court and blood samples were collected and sent for DNA testing.

When the defense took the stand that Sunita was alive from the first stage of the trial, the prosecution demanded the DNA test report, which was not in the court records. The prosecution also raised a demand in the court to allow six witnesses who are experts in scientific testing to be examined in the event that the DNA came out in favor.
