It has been alleged that a businessman named Alit Palawan (40) committed suicide by hanging himself due to debt in Dhobaura, Mymensingh.
The incident took place on Thursday (April 6) afternoon in the village of Valukapara of the upazila.
Alit Palawan is the son of deceased Hamid Palawan of that area. He was dealing in mobile banking transactions and recharges in Ghoshgao Bazar.
Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tipu Sultan confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said, Alit Palawan came from abroad and started business in Ghoshgao market a year ago. In the meantime he fell into debt.
The OC also said that on Thursday afternoon, he committed suicide by hanging himself under the cowshed of the house. Later, when the locals informed the police station, the police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Legal action is under process in this incident.
