The corruption case in the Ministry of Defense: The Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court last night (Monday) extended the detention of Sharon Dan, the owner of Sharon Dan Investments Ltd., as well as the owners of several other companies. Dan is the main suspect in the case, and is suspected of being the one who headed the cartel in connection with misleading construction and infrastructure tenders in the Ministry of Defense.
Together with him, the court extended the detention of 13 other suspects also by seven days. We note that the investigation of the national unit to combat economic crime in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and the tax authorities shows that Dan, who is identified as an associate and associated with Abu Latif’s criminal organization, allegedly created a false representation, this by coordinating and managing a corrupt relationship with officials in the Ministry of Defense and submitted bids to construction tenders from a number of companies he was one of their husbands
However, in practice he is not listed as holding the shares of those companies. In this way, Dan and the same officials in the Ministry of Defense created a false representation, according to which there are several contestants in the same tenders, while in reality it was a cartel headed by Dan himself, and he was the one who submitted the bids in order to win those tenders.
As mentioned, yesterday dozens were arrested and detained in the case on suspicion of bribery offenses with officials in the engineering and construction division of the Ministry of Defense, in exchange for obtaining inside information and biasing tenders in the construction field. The officers of the national unit to combat economic crime in Lahab 433, and the security officer in the security establishment conducted a covert investigation in the past year, which became public with the arrest of all the suspects.
