On the Catholic holiday of Saint Etchmiadzin, H.S.O.T.T. Karekin the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received the members of the current and newly elected organizing commissions of the Congregational Congress.
His Eminence expressed his appreciation for the successful work done to the working committee of the congregation, which includes the director of the Mother See Preaching Center, T. Reverend Karegin Hambardzumyan, Head of the Chair of Historical Theology of the Russian Orthodox Church, T. Reverend Andreas Yezekyan, Deputy Director of the Administrative and Economic Department of the Mother See T. Archbishop Hakobyan, from the Armenian Western Diocese of the USA, Fr. Reverend Jeremiah Abgaryan, from the Armenian Eastern Diocese of the USA Fr. Aren Abegha Chepechyan, Vicar of the Pontifical Delegate of Western Europe in Spain and Portugal T. Thank you Abegha Sargsyan.
The Armenian Bishop also brought his fatherly blessing to the members of the new commission, Fr. Simeon Abegha Odabashyan, Director of Archives and Museums of the Mother See T. Asoghik Abegha Karapetyan, T. To Derenik Abegha Sahakyan, Fr. Hakob Abegha Sahakyan, T. Agha Abegha Yernjakyan, from the Armenian Diocese of Iraq, Fr. Ghevond Abegha Saghatelyan. His Eminence urged the congregants to start the organization of the next congregation meeting with diligence and undiminished energy, taking into account the current issues affecting the motherland, the Church and the people.
The Congregational Congress takes place every two years in the Holy Mother See of Etchmiadzin. Congregants serving in different dioceses and structures of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church (abbes, priests and supreme priests) come together in the Armenian spiritual center to discuss the challenges faced by the Armenian Church, to look for ways to overcome them, to exchange experiences of spiritual service, as well as to renew their covenant.
