The Cia. Trocos Lucos wins the Lola Casademont Award from Circus Fair in Carrer de la Bisbal d’Empordà for the show La Tartana. This has been the first year that the awards have been held, organized to pay tribute to Lola Casademont, one of the main promoters of the contest who died recently.
One of the main novelties of the 27th edition of this year’s Circus Fair, held this past weekend, was the initiative to promote the Lola Casademont Awards. The winning company of this first edition selected by vot popular has been the Cia. Torcos Lucos for the show La Tartana, a proposal of high complexity in circus techniques that develops its dramaturgy from an “acrobatic research on the use of a van as a stage element and as a support” for the pirouettes of the artsites. Thus, this casual show was chosen as the favorite of the whole weekend.
The award, which was presented by the councilor for culture Carles Puigis a black ceramic sculpture made by the Bisbal artist Didi Heras which depicts an open chair with circus elements “waiting for a presence and longing for an absence,” as he explains Eva Gasull, spokesperson for the fair. From now on, the intention of the organization of the contest will continue with the Lola Casademont Awards.
