For example, the former commander of the Defense Forces Mikael Arzumanyan has been in prison for 1.5 years. The preliminary investigation is over, the court process is underway, but the government has decided that the general should serve a prison sentence.
Why should he be punished, because the guilty party has been appointed from the beginning, the political assignment is there, and all that remains is to provide the formal part.
Today I had the opportunity to meet with the latter in “Yerevan-Kentron” prison. Arzumanyan, who has many war injuries, needs inpatient treatment today, but as an additional punishment tool, he does not get this opportunity.
The circumstances of the 44-day war must be fully disclosed and the public must know exactly who did or did not do what and what responsibility they have for the tragedy that happened.
But, of course, this cannot happen under the government, which not only has responsibility and complicity, but also directs the legal system from the beginning and stages a scenario and performance according to its own imagination.
