The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Holding Company, Muhammad bin Ayyad, stated that a number of positive indicators regarding the revenues achieved in the telecommunications sector indicate an increase in telecommunications sector revenues in 2024.

Ben Ayyad explained during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, that revenues for the year 2021 amounted to 646 million dinars, while they reached 695 million at the end of 2022, and increased during the year 2023 to reach 913 million dinars.

Ben Ayyad confirmed that the disclosure of the value of revenues will be at the end of the current year, indicating that the sector’s revenues are disclosed during the end of the year and are referred to the General Communications Authority, which coordinates with the Ministry of Finance in particular.

Bin Ayyad also presented a summary of the most important technical programs and projects that aim to develop and diversify the services provided to citizens throughout the country.

For his part, Al-Dabaiba stressed the need for disclosure and transparency in all procedures taken by the company and group companies, and clarifying any data or information to the citizen.

According to our government platform, Al-Dabaiba stressed the need for all financial institutions to disclose their annual profits without exception, and to consider this standard as one for any Libyan institution.

This comes in conjunction with the Central Bank’s report on revenues and spending, which stated that telecommunications revenues during the first four months of 2024 are zero dinars.
