Thrissur: The Mahajanasabha of Congress started at Thekinkad Maidan. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge inaugurated the Mahajanasabha. Kharge said that he is thankful to Kerala for making Rahul Gandhi its representative. Kharge demanded that the BJP flag should not be allowed to fly in Kerala and vote for the Congress to protect the country’s values.

Slamming the central government, Kharge also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of suppressing the states. “The price of all food items has doubled. It is a terrible situation in the country. The government has a negative approach to all this. Rising unemployment and inflation have left the common people of the country in dire straits. Under Modi’s regime, the poor become poor again and the rich become rich again. Women and Dalits are facing severe injustice. “The central government is trying to destroy federalism,” accused Kharge.

One lakh people from different parts of the state are participating in the function. 75,000 office bearers like President, Women Vice President and BLOs participated from each booth. Activists and leaders from Kerala have reached from constituency to AICC level. KPCC president K. Sudhakaran is the chairman. Leaders including AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan, AICC General Secretary Deepa Dasmunshi are also present on the stage.
