The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan today received the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Romeo Mikautadze.
The minister welcomed the guests and highly appreciated the Armenian-Georgian cooperation.
The minister emphasized that the Republic of Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with Georgia, especially in the field of energy. In that direction, according to the minister, there is a great potential, which will be possible to fully apply when appropriate infrastructures are built. In particular, the construction of the Armenia-Georgia 400 kV power transmission line will be a new impetus for the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of electricity and the development of cooperation at the regional level.
The minister thanked the Georgian side for supplying electricity to the Republic of Armenia last year, when the Armenian nuclear power plant was stopped due to repair work.
Romeo Mikautadze, for his part, emphasized the effective Armenian-Georgian cooperation in the energy sector.
The Deputy Minister informed that from September 1, Georgia is also transitioning to the liberalization of the energy market and expressed hope that the cooperation with Armenia on this platform will also be successful.
Other issues of bilateral interest were discussed during the meeting.
