Results « mediocre », « unacceptable for a country like France ». The president of the Court of Auditors, Pierre Moscovici, issued a harsh indictment on Monday against the perinatal policy. The institution focused on the care of women and their babies, between the last trimester of pregnancy and the child’s first birthday. While the budget devoted to perinatal care has increased to reach 9.3 billion euros in 2021, but the number of births is falling, his report calls into question the effectiveness of this policy. From monitoring pregnant women to delivery conditions, it identifies the main gaps and recommends courses of action.
