The unique present “Martha Graham & Greek Myths” organized by the Dodecanese Bee Committee of Rhodes, with the purpose of strengthening its scholarship work for needy Dodecanese college students, gained the impressions.

Dance colleges, mates and supporters of the union loved the distinctive creative spectacle of speech and motion that approaches historical Greek myths mixed with fashionable dance as impressed by the well-known American choreographer Martha Graham, specializing in the tales of Oedipus and Jocasta. The deep relationship of the priestess of recent dance with the traditional Greek tradition and the expressive interpretation with the ability of the physique is well-known.

The efficiency has been included within the Erasmus plus program of the European Fee and the State Scholarship Basis (IKY), managed by the lecturers of the first Archangelos Main College, Mrs. Tsambika Hatzimanoli and Olga Dourou. Co-organizer is the Municipality of Rhodes and DOPAR, sponsor is the Semiramis Resort, supporters are the Worldwide Heart for Writers and Translators, the Dance Faculties of Mrs. Elli Paraskeva, Mari Ghika, Vicis Ferdeklis, Maria Manioti, Valia Karveli, the Dance Gymnasium of Mrs. Maria Sarri and the Firm “Afi Paraskeva Emporiki SA”.

All of the native media supported the work and motion of the Dodecanese Bee with publications and broadcasts.

The occasion was offered by Mrs. Anna Charitou, a member of the Dodecanese Bee Committee of Rhodes, and greeted by the president of the affiliation, Mrs. Mary Moschi, in addition to the director of the first major faculty of Archangelos, Mrs. Tsirozis Theologia.

The thrilling spectacle was interpreted with their actions and our bodies by the proficient dancers: Eleftheria Iliopoulou, Maritina Katsimprakis, Vasia Kolliou, Marianna Papakonstantinou, and Marianna Tsikmanli, two of whom, Maritina Katsimprakis and Marianna Papakonstantinou, are Roditisses. The efficiency was enriched by texts and images from Martha Graham’s archive with main dancers of the time and her faculty group.

The Dodecanese Bee Committee of Rhodes thanks everybody who supported its work.
