There is no doubt that Sony Santa Monica is one of the most valued studios in the PlayStation portfolio, even more so with the success achieved by God of War: Ragnarok and its predecessor, introducing the norse saga for kratos and atreus. With this new chapter of God of War closed, many questions arise regarding what the company can do in the immediate future. Rumors claim that there is a new IP underway by Cory Barlog and that its theme would be science fiction, something that may have confirmed one of its scriptwriters.
To be more specific, Alanah Pearce may have been in charge of confirming this information, through its appearance on the Play, Watch, Listen podcast. In the course of the conversation, Pearce was speaking with Mike Bithell, who mentioned that he was working on a “unspecified science fiction franchise”. After that, Pearce laughed at the vague description and they were pronounced simply with an “equal”. It is unknown if it will be a joke due to all the rumors that have emerged in recent months and if it will be the first official revelation of the next Santa Monica project, something that makes sense after the job offers that have recently appeared in the study.
