The Israel Police is preparing for the derby in which Hapoel Haifa will host Maccabi Haifa and which will be held at Sami Ofer Stadium today (Wednesday) at 20:30. From 17:00, hundreds of policemen, bouncers and security guards will be deployed in and outside the stadium in order to maintain order and security and regulate traffic. The stadium gates will open at 6:30 p.m., and due to the expectation of 30,000 fans who will come to the game, the police are asking for early arrival, as traffic congestion is expected in the area, and to these are added the checking of the parking tickets and the checking of the entrances to the stands.

In view of the escalation between the Haifa ultras organizations – Hapoel’s Shaar 5 and the Green Monkeys, the Ultra Boys and Maccabi’s Inferno Verde – following the release of a video in which members of Shaar 5 allegedly burned the equipment stolen from the monkeys’ warehouse at the Sami Ofer Stadium, as first published in “Kalbo – Haifa and the Karyots” , the police do not take risks.

In an interview we held last week with the deputy commander of the Haifa station, Prof. Dodi Logsi, he clarified that “anyone who improves the order and anyone who tries to harm another fan will be arrested.” Logsi also said that there will be several security circles outside the stadium, that there will be increased enforcement against removed fans, and that a sealed buffer two meters high will be erected for the purpose of protecting the Reds’ fans.
