This weekend is the second of a series of periods spread between June and September, during which the agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard focus their surveillance on this group, which takes advantage of the weekend to increase movements in these vehicles, turning them into a recreational activity in itself.

So far this year, 199 motorcyclists have died on the road (18 more than in the same period last year), which represents 26% of the total number of deaths on interurban roads.

If we take into account the accident rate of this group depending on the type of road and the day of the week on which they die, we can assure that the addition of motorists on conventional roads and on weekends is an operation that entails a high level of danger.

Of the 199 motorcyclists who died, 153 were in accidents that took place on conventional roads and 104 on the weekend.
