The General Manager of Rupali Bank PLC has been promoted as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the state-owned bank. Faiz Alam Recently eight general managers of various state-owned banks, including Faiz Alam, were promoted to the post of Deputy Managing Director through a notification issued by the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance. Faiz Alam successfully served as General Manager at Rupali Bank Plc before being promoted as DMD.

Md. Faiz Alam joined Rupali Bank in 1998 as Senior Officer through BRC. During his career, he served as manager of various important branches, head of various important departments of zonal office and head office. For professional needs, he has participated in training and seminars on banking at home and abroad, including traveling to various countries in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and the Arab region.

Faiz Alam was born in 1968 in Yogirangua village of Atpara upazila of Netrakona. After passing MA with BA Honors from Bengali Department of Dhaka University, this famous banker also obtained MPhil degree.

Notably, Faiz Alam is a successful writer outside of professional life. He is famous as an essayist and poet in Bangladesh. He is also famous as the translator of Edward Said’s famous book Orientalism. He has published more than 15 books.
