The average wage for employees in Israel rose in September compared to last year, according to data published today (Thursday) by the Central Bureau of Statistics.
According to the data, the average wage per employee post at current prices was NIS 11,667, an increase of 2.9% compared to September 2020 (NIS 11,337). The average wage per employee post at constant prices was NIS 10,821, an increase of 0.4% compared to September 2020 (NIS 10,777).
The number of employee jobs was 3.622 million, an increase of 6.8% compared to September 2020 (3.390 million). This number of jobs is still lower than the number of employee jobs in February 2020 (3.781 million) before the outbreak of the corona plague.
In September 2021, the largest sector was the non-financial corporations sector, with 2.341 million employee jobs (64.6% of all employee jobs in the economy). The average salary per employee job in this sector was NIS 12,582.

The data also showed that there was also an increase in the average wage in the high-tech field. In September 2021, the average wage per employee post of high-tech workers was NIS 26,242, an increase of 8.0% compared to September 2020 (NIS 24,304).
In September 2021, the number of employee jobs in the high-tech field was 349.5 thousand, an increase of 7.2% compared to September 2020 (325.9 thousand). Employee jobs in the high-tech field were 9.6% of all employee jobs in the economy, similar to August 2021 (9.4%).
