He FIMAG magic festival of Torroella de Montgrí celebrated its eleventh edition this weekend. It has done so, as usual, with a weekend full of shows, in different formats and for all audiences, throughout the day. The co-director of Fimag, Abel Font, explains that the aim of the festival is “to dignify the sector so that it stops being the younger brother of other performing arts”. Along these lines, he explains that FIMAG welcomes “high level professional” proposals in a calculated schedule: “It is not a question of bringing many artists, but of being a benchmark of quality“.
Along these lines, internationally renowned artists such as the French hiptonist have passed through the festival Jeff Touisant who surprised friends and strangers with the careful and surprising technique of hypnosis that turned the volunteers into puppets of a magician who, in the style of a true guru, did with them what he wanted; or the Russian Alain Simonov with the handling number Limbo; the french Jimmy Delp – The orange magician with the number It’s Good of comic magic; the korean Manho Han with Shopping Haul, general magic number; or the Swedish Hakan Bergwith the comic magic of The king of birds. All these artists have taken part in the Grand International Gala, the flagship show of the festival, which has managed to exceed 95% of the capacity of the Espai Ter auditorium.
The final traca has had a Jandro as the protagonist, who has been responsible for the sold out poster a the Espai Ter de Torroella in the last great show of FIMAG’23. A show that had already surprised Las Vegas and had made celebrities like Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe o Tom Hanks and that has not gone unnoticed by an audience that is more faithful every year to the appointment with the magic of FIMAG.
