In order to overcome the economic consequences of the coronavirus, 35 Armenian social enterprises will receive financial support from the EU fund for overcoming the COVID-19. Within the framework of the initiative, the volume of funds provided by the European Union to Armenian enterprises exceeds AMD 186 million.

The EU fund for overcoming COVID-19 was launched by “Impact Pill Yerevan” within the framework of the “Cooperation for Social Impact” regional project.

The financial support initiative for social enterprises is only one part of a long-term multi-component plan. As a result of the competition, various business initiatives operating in all regions of the Republic of Armenia were selected, the unifying factor of which is the social component of the activity.

“The target of the project is social entrepreneurship. Directing our support to the socially oriented business community, we not only support regional small and medium-sized businesses, but also bring stability to the processes of solving social problems that the founders of these enterprises took on their shoulders,” says Ani Babumyan, executive director of Impact Hub Yerevan.

The official grant awarding ceremony will take place on September 11.
