On the initiative of the Armenian side, a video meeting was held today between the head of the RA Food Safety Inspection Authority, Georgi Avetisyan, and the head of the Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service (Rosselkhoznadzor), Sergey Dankvert.

The parties discussed the situation related to the submission of certificates for phytosanitary sub-control cargoes between the two countries and the export of fish products and dairy products, particularly cheese, from Armenia. It was noted that the export of fish products from RA in 2019 Compared to 5,400 tons, it increased to 7,200 tons in 7 months of 2020, and a double increase is expected by the end of the year.

Regarding the mentioned issues, the food safety officials of Armenia and Russia came to a common statement to create and maintain possible favorable conditions to promote the activation of trade circulation in the food sector, as well as to ensure the supply of safe food.
