The National Police has arrested a man in Dos Hermanas who is being investigated for posing as a lawyer and defrauding several victims throughout the province who hired his supposed services. One of them paid him more than 30,000 euros in exchange for nothing, since logically the man did not work as a lawyer. But his field of action went further: he is also accused of small scams at gas stations from which he left without paying for fuel under the excuse that he was late for a trial and of stealing a car that he had rented for only three days.
The police investigation began after receiving a complaint from the victim who had paid more than 30,000 euros. The investigators then confirmed that the supposed lawyer was not such and identified several more victims who invested amounts close to 2,000 euros for legal procedures and services that were never carried out.
To these facts we must add the small scams that he carried out at different service stations, from which he quickly left, referring to “being in a hurry to go to trial.” He promised the workers that he would return later to pay for the refueling, but he was no longer seen there again.
And added to all of the above, as reported by the Police, it must be added that the vehicle that the detainee usually drove was the property of a car rental company that had reported its theft. According to the investigation carried out, the man misappropriated it for several months after renting it exclusively for three days.
In this way, in addition to clarifying the scams related to the legal profession, the Police were able to recover the vehicle at the time of arrest and return it to its legitimate owners.
Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, which agreed to his immediate admission to prison. In fact, the protagonist was wanted by another court for similar events.
