With effect from July 2, 2003, Ronny Markenstein was granted his license to practice medicine. It entitles him to practice the medical profession. It was very easy, he didn’t even need a high school diploma

You can see the skyline of Miami, clouds reflected in the sea, a bright blue sky. In the foreground, a man in a white uniform stands casually on the deck of a large ship. He looks sporty, smart and tanned. It’s the ship’s doctor: Dr. med. Ronny Markenstein (Name changed, although Ronny is very close to the real first name).

That was six years ago. Today he wears his hair longer, jeans and a T-shirt instead of the white uniform. But the smile is the same, mischievous and somewhat challenging. Maybe a little wistful too. “It was a nice time,” he says as he looks at the photo on the table in front of him. Every day he had the sea in front of his eyes, and then that moment that he remembers so fondly, when the ship arrived in New York for the first time, the Statue of Liberty appeared out of the fog and he thought: Now he’s done it, it achieved something in life.
