DECRYPTION – The Minister of Labor is preparing a revision of the compensation rules.

While a wind of concern blew over employment trends since the beginning of the year due to the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict and its economic consequences, the labor market finally remained dynamic in the second quarter . Between the beginning of April and the end of June, the number of job seekers registered in category A of Pôle Emploi – ie without any activity – thus fell by 0.8% compared to the previous quarter.

A drop which represents 26,900 people and which brings the total number of unemployed in this category to 3.166 million, according to figures published on Wednesday by the statistics department of the Ministry of Labor (Dares). The decline thus continues in the second quarter, even if it does not fall within the same standards as the decreases of 5% recorded in the first quarter of 2022 and of 5.7% in the fourth quarter of 2021.
