State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin addressed his Armenian colleagues with an open letter.
“The past year 2023 was a difficult test for the historical ties of Armenia and Russia, our peoples. You know that Russia is fighting in Ukraine. We entered the Guinness book. 17,500 unfair sanctions have been imposed against the Russian Federation. The Armenian people have lost the precious part of their “self”, Artsakh.
It is difficult, if not impossible, to agree with the obvious injustice, not only for you in Armenia, but also for me in Russia. We are haunted by the fate of my friends Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and all their friends.
My mouth is full of bitterness, as they used to say. And yet we know that life goes on. And we believe in the victory that will come.
I would like to wish you that 2024 will not be like 2023, that you will be happy and successful in the New Year.
