According to our information, the Ukrainian First Lady, Olena Zelenska, will be in Paris this Wednesday. The visit of the wife of President Volodymyr Zelensky will take place mainly at UNESCO headquarters, in the 7th district, where she will speak to representatives of the 194 member states of the UN body specializing in education and of culture. A speech that she will deliver, in Ukrainian, on behalf of her husband, the First Lady having an official function in Ukraine.
In this capacity, she has been working with UNESCO, since the start of the Russian invasion of her country, almost two years ago, on several programs. The organization has trained 15,000 school psychologists. “Because of the war, one in three Ukrainian students returned to school remotely,” explains the spokesperson for the Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay. The others are present in schools with underground bomb shelters, which they must reach at each air alert. » Training in distance education, psychological support for teachers and schoolchildren for learning in such dire conditions, such is the aim of the program.
A “Ukrainian shelf” at the UNESCO library
In addition, the First Lady will inaugurate a “Ukrainian shelving” at the UNESCO library. Sharing with her husband the concern to communicate to maintain support for Ukraine – which sometimes seems to take a back seat since the war between Israel and Hamas – Olena Zelenska multiplies this type of operation, in universities and institutions across the world. Finally, as a sign of solidarity, urban artist Christian Guémy, aka C215, will create live, during the visit, an ephemeral fresco on Ukraine, on an interior wall of the institution.
