«Requests to participate in the activities of Doing Business from the school have not stopped growing since the beginning of the year», assures the Federation of Business Organizations of Girona (FOEG). The project whose main objective is to bring the students of the Girona counties closer to the world of business and entrepreneurship, in this first quarter of the year, has developed about fifteen performances.
Since the beginning of the year, the FOEG have organized visits to the companies Frit Ravich, Comexi, Mitsa or Valvi SPAR, to primary, secondary and training students from centers such as Escola Vall d’Aro, Institut Serrallarga, Institut Montilivi, among others.
In order to assess the 2022 edition, the FOEG conducted different surveys of the participating students to draw conclusions. A total of 448 students participated in the surveys. According to the employer, 90% of them evaluate their participation in the project as positive and useful. In terms of business topics, students show correct knowledge of what a business is. In addition, the students are quite clear that a company is not just for making money, that the company must meet the needs of the territory or offer services, details the FOEG.
«Young people do not want to learn according to which trades because they do not know them and therefore do not love them. With this project we want to combat this lack of awareness and gradually promote vocations”, says the president of the employers’ association, Ernest Plana.
