H.E. Catholicos, His Holiness Garegin the Second today received the legendary football players of “Ararat-73”, accompanied by Russian-based philanthropist Hrachya Poghosyan.
The latter arrived in Armenia to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the victories of “Ararat-73”. The short meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, both sides shared unforgettable memories of football victories.
His Holiness also remembered that many years ago, when he was a young clergyman, he baptized football player Nikolay Ghazaryan.
The participants of the meeting did not forget our other football players who became eternal travelers: Alexander Kovalenko, Sanasar Gevorgyan.
His Holiness made his personal gift to his beloved footballers in the form of Swiss watches, and they, in turn, presented a soccer ball with their own signatures to the Catholicos of All Armenians, wished H.H. To His Holiness Garegin II, abundance of sunshine and prosperity, and may the right hand of the Almighty Lord be a cloud canopy.
In commemoration of the day, Hrachya Poghosyan also presented a gift to His Holiness.

It should be noted that October 10 marks the 40th anniversary of the achievements of “Ararat-73”. On the occasion of the historic football victory, a big event is planned for October 6 in Agarak community of Aragatsotn marz. The author of the initiative is the Russian-based philanthropist Hrachya Poghosyan, it will be implemented with the support of the RA Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Yuri Vardanyan.
