How do the French spend their free time? The widespread addiction to smartphones in particular and screens more generally has been documented enough in recent years to intuitively know the answer. But summed up in a figure, this answer becomes staggering again. Screens capture more than 60% of our leisure time. This is the conclusion that emerges from the Hobby One study, carried out by Vertigo Research in December with a sample of 14,000 people aged 11 and over. Every day, we spend more than half of our free time chatting on social networks, watching series on streaming platforms, watching TV shows, playing video games… Rather than reading, walking or start a game of Scrabble.
