The Minister of Energy Transition wanted to reassure the French for whom spending 100 euros per month for their car would represent too significant an expense.
«It is called the “leasing at 100 euros”, but we have ensured that we can have access to cars from 54 euros per month since the first models, the smallest models, will be accessible at that price», explained Agnès Pannier-Runacher this Friday morning, guest of the RMC morning show. Among these models, the Minister of Energy Transition notably cited the Fiat 500 and the Citroën C3 “when it goes on sale in the first quarter of 2024».
Conversely, “there will be more family cars, bigger“, like the 2008 or the C4 “which will be available from 150 euros per month“, specified the minister, “so that families in which there are several children can have models that correspond to them».

A minimum of 25,000 vehicles distributed
In addition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher discussed at length the conditions to be met to be eligible for this social leasing: be of legal age and have proof of domicile in France, display a reference tax income per share of less than 15,400 euros, live more than 15 km from work or travel more than 8,000 km per year by car as part of their professional activity.
«Today, we can distribute 25,000 vehicles and depending on the appeal of this system for the French, we will work with the manufacturers to see if we can have a little more.“, she added. The minister also recalls that in 2023, “there were 26,000 ecological bonuses» distributed «to this category of French“.
