The gaffe on the plate for Ciampi: they got the name wrong – Photo

by time news

The plaque dedicated to the former President of the Republic Ciampi was not chipped, but simply wrong. In fact, the name of the former head of state was engraved on the travertine with an error. Carlo Azeglio has in fact become “Carlo Azelio”, ie without the “g”. For this reason, the plate remained covered, waiting for a new and correct one, by a yellow and red cloth. President Mattarella and all the participating authorities were therefore forced to leave the place of the ceremony without being able to actually discover the plaque. The plate was then replaced immediately and the perpetrator of the error was identified: he risks a penalty.
