Let’s get to know the freebies in the Epic Games Store for the coming week – and other freebies that you can try out within the Steam store in the coming days only

Are you done checking out Humble Bundle’s great gaming bundles? Great – this means you have free time to collect now the freebies on duty for the current week from the Epic Games store, and also get some recommendations on worthwhile promotions in the Steam store, including those that will allow you to try out several games in the coming days at no cost at all. Enjoy!

The first freebie on the Epic Games Store that will patiently wait for all registered users until noon on Thursday, September 29, has been shared on the platform before – this is the online survival hit ARK: Survival Evolved, which is available alongside a variety of additional digital content at no extra charge as a possible preparation of The audience for the intended launch of the sequel during the next year.

There is also a pair of content expansion packages for the paid game (no discount at this stage, unfortunately), for the benefit of those who wish to have the most comprehensive gaming experience – but even for those who do not wish to invest their money at this stage there is a very successful starting point.

This week’s second freebie is being given away for free on the platform for the first time – it’s a tactical role-playing title called Gloomhaven that originally launched less than a year ago and holds 87 percent positive reviews from players on Steam, which speaks to its qualities better than anything else. Instead of the full recommended price of NIS 118.95, you can get it completely free, and in this case too there are content expansion packages available but without any discount, so it would be advisable to continue and wait for the right timing for their purchase.

Next week, starting Thursday night, two new free-to-play games will be available on EGS – a co-op platformer called Runbow and a drone racing game called The Drone Racing League, based on a family of real-life competitions that started in 2015.

On Steam, you have a few hours left to enjoy the free trial run of the surprise hit Payday 2, which will team you up with other human players in a variety of sophisticated heist missions. The basic edition of the title can be downloaded and tried for free and then also purchased permanently for only NIS 18.47 after a 50 percent discount, but there are also dozens of paid content packages that you can add for yourself if you wish down the road.

Another game that is available to try for free over the next two days is an intriguing action title called Midnight Ghost Hunt, which is in the Early Access program before a full launch and allows players to take control of a variety of inanimate objects in the game world to try and overwhelm the other team’s flesh and blood players. The average of reviews from those who have tried it is very good, and if you like what you want, you can pre-purchase the game for half of its full recommended price – NIS 36.97.

The game SpiderHeck was launched just two days ago and allows you to play the role of an intelligent spider equipped with weapons (the biggest nightmare of all arachnophobes come true?) – in a fight to the death against other spiders controlled by players online or in joint battles against waves of computer-controlled enemies. If you fall in love, you can also buy it for NIS 44.95 after a 10 percent cut from the official launch price.

As a bonus, a futuristic racing game (from the past) called Flashout 3D is now permanently free on Steam for everyone, in an updated version that is optimized for modern systems, to accompany the launch of a new chapter in the same somewhat unknown series that happened a few days ago.
