THE INCREDIBLE SAGA OF THE GODFATHER (1/6) – The huge success of Coppola’s film, a sort of Italian-American King Lear, fascinated the bosses of the “crime syndicate”, to the point that they appropriated this name invented from scratch by the novelist Mario Puzo.

The novel written at the end of the 1960s by the Italian-American Mario Puzo to pay off his debts became a bestseller, then a planetary phenomenon thanks to the adaptation by Francis Coppola who made three anthology films. “The Godfather” illustrates the American dream and its dark side.
