In response to the health crisis facing the country, the Government, through the Ministry of Health, has announced a set of measures aimed at improving access to health services.
These measures have the main objective of adjusting some conditions of the current health system, in order to guarantee the fundamental right to health of all Colombians.
Among the measures announced is the increase in percentages for direct transfer to clinics, hospitals and health service providers. This measure seeks to strengthen the finances of the Health Service Providing Institutions (IPS) and ensure continuity in the provision of services.
In addition, the reactivation of health promoters has been announced, who will play a crucial role in health care. in remote and difficult to access areas. These promoters, trained by SENA, will work directly within the communities to address health needs comprehensively.

Another notable measure is the creation of a single tariff, based on international experiences and validated with public and private providers, unions and health personnel. This updated tariff will include surgical procedures, interventions, transfers and hospitalization, with the aim of standardizing costs and improving accessibility to health services.
Besides, A territorialization process will be carried out to define the priority geographical areasthus facilitating access to health services in dispersed rural areas.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, highlighted the importance of these measures and underlined the government’s commitment to improving the health system in the country.
The resources for direct transfer correspond to the Capitation Payment Unit (UPC), that is, the money that the National Government provides for each patient who belongs to the contributory regime.
