The government applied a tariff quota to imported beef, pork and poultry.

In its session today, November 9, the government approved the application of tariff quotas for certain types of agricultural products imported into the RA territory, the import procedure, one-time and general license forms.

It is necessary to work out the procedure for the distribution of the volume of the import quota of certain types of agricultural products to the Republic of Armenia among the participants of foreign economic activity.

Taking into account that the RA Ministry of Economy is the state administration body responsible for non-tariff regulation within the framework of membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, therefore the latter is recognized as the authorized body for issuing licenses for the import of certain types of agricultural products.

The following quotas have been set:

Meat of cattle, frozen, fresh or frozen – 9 thousand tons per year,

Pork – fresh, frozen or frozen – 12 thousand tons

Poultry meat and food by-products, fresh, frozen or frozen – 39.1 thousand tons

Whey and modified whey in powder, granular or other solid form, without added sugar or other sweetening matter – 1.2 thousand tons.
