Commenting on the project, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted: “In general, road construction is a very important direction for us. I would like to emphasize that here we have also reached a target goal in the interim. It is about the quality of our roads. Today we can say that we have visible progress in terms of the quality of road construction, but let’s record Mr. Papikyan that we have not yet reached the goal we talked about in 2018. It’s about reaching a whole new standard in the quality of our roads.

I also want to raise the topics that we have discussed several times during working discussions. With the pre-election program of the “Civil Agreement” party, we have committed to build 2,600 km of roads, 500 kindergartens, 300 schools, start or complete the construction of 15 reservoirs in the next five years.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that the analysis shows that today’s construction potential in Armenia does not allow these projects to be fully implemented, detailing that all construction organizations do not have that much potential. Nikol Pashinyan drew the attention of international partners to this issue and invited discussions to cooperate in the direction of implementing these large-scale investment programs for the next five years. The Acting Prime Minister expressed hope that new construction standards, new quality of construction work organization will come to Armenia with these construction companies.

According to Acting Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan, Nikol Pashinyan’s message mentions international partners, but local companies, seeing the great potential offered to them, should make efforts to improve quality.
