Although the possible economic effects of de-blocking the region have not been evaluated and are not included in the government’s plan, there is hope that the de-blocking will facilitate the implementation of the government’s plan, RA Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan told reporters after the government session.
“They are not included, but we hope that its occurrence will significantly facilitate the implementation of our project,” said Kerobyan.
Judging by Vahan Kerobyan’s answer, the risks to Armenia’s economy as a result of unblocking the region or regional infrastructures are also not assessed, but the authorities, according to him, must ensure that Armenia’s economy remains competitive.
“Along with the progress of the (unblocking – ed.) process, we must also make sure that our economy remains competitive and in the event of a possible unblocking, we have only economic benefits and the economy does not suffer from it,” said the Minister of Economy.
