I intend to visit Armenia in the near future. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetitis, announced this. Gerapetitis spoke about it at the beginning of the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union.
“We came to the Council of Foreign Relations today with a heavy and important agenda.
We will start with the issue of relations between Armenia and the European Union. Greece welcomes the ongoing peace process in the South Caucasus. Thanks to the efforts of the Greek state, Armenia has been invited to the Council of Foreign Affairs today to present positions aimed at sustainable peace in the wider region.
I personally had a long conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and I intend to visit Armenia in the near future, and today I will have the opportunity to see the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries, both Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Contrary to the above, the messages are not equally encouraging on other regional and international fronts, particularly in Ukraine, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, where even more intensive efforts must be made for sustainable peace.
Thanks to its foreign policy principles and values, Greece has gained an important international weight, which it applies on international platforms. At the same time, it is a reliable partner for all international and regional players. Thanks to that, we are building bridges of friendship with prudence and self-confidence in our wider region, aimed at the present and the future”, – the RA Embassy in Greece relays the words of the ambassador.
