Al-Diwaniyah – Waaa – Attributes of Al-Azzawi
The Central Iraqi Handball Federation, in cooperation with the Interim Authority of the Game Federation, Diwaniyah Branch, held the final of the Jassim Abd Jassim Championships for those born in 2010 and the Dhia Saadoun Championship for those born in 2006, with the participation of 10 teams from Diwaniyah Governorate.
The head of the organizing committee for the two tournaments, Hikmat Al-Lami, told the (INA): “The 2010 category final resulted in the victory of the Al-Budair team over the Al-Hamza team with a score of 7 goals to 4, while the 2006 category championship resulted in the victory of the Al-Suniya club team over the Al-Shamiya team with a score of 13.” – 9,” indicating that “embracing these tournaments came to restore the sportsmanship and fan base of the game in the governorate.”
For his part, the President of the Iraqi Handball Federation, Ahmed Riyad, confirmed to (INA) that “it is not possible for any sporting activity to witness success unless there are active elements for the work and supportive elements,” noting that “the focus on age groups mainly came to achieve savings.” A strategy for national teams to compete at the regional and international levels.
