About one in twenty young people have suffered from symptoms for a long time after being infected with the coronavirus.

This is called post-covid or long-covid. In adults it is about 3 percent.

Almost a quarter of adults and one in five young people with chronic corona complaints are severely limited by this in daily life. “They often feel very tired, among other things. Complaints such as memory and concentration problems, shortness of breath or shortness of breath are also often mentioned,” says the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), which has conducted research into the complaints.

People feel the consequences at work, but they can also do less at home. GPs also receive significantly more appointments from people with memory and concentration problems than before the outbreak of the coronavirus. People between the ages of 24 and 45 in particular visit their GP more often for this.
