In the last few days, an increase in the prices of primary consumer goods was recorded in the republic.
Among the goods that have become more expensive are flour, wheat, bread, eggs, rice, cheese and other dairy products, poultry, previously oil, as well as gasoline, compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas. The price of sugar has increased by 26.6% compared to the price of the previous year.
Edmon Marukyan, head of the “Lusavore Armenia” faction, notes that the increase in the price of fuel will bring with it the price of other products even higher.
And this in the conditions when the war has just ended, the epidemic is still raging in our country, on the one hand we have lost and are losing jobs, on the other hand the financial burden of the citizens is only increasing.
In relation to this issue, I appealed to the President of the RA State University of Agriculture and Forestry, Gegham Gevorgyan, and asked him to study what causes the price increases in the food and fuel market, as well as to apply the tools reserved to the commission by law to lower the prices of unreasonably high prices and to apply appropriate sanctions to the delinquent entities.
