Thiruvananthapuram: Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s rights infringement notice against the Chief Minister in the Mentor controversy was dismissed. The Speaker considered the Chief Minister’s explanation that PwC Director Jayik Balakumar is the mentor of his daughter Veena and not the mentor of Veena’s company. Veena Vijayan’s company Exalogic’s website initially referred to Jayik as a mentor. Then when the gold smuggling controversy came up, the site disappeared. Mathew’s allegation is that when he came back, the mentor part was missing. The old back file of the company was released and challenged, but the Chief Minister did not reply. The then Speaker had sought an explanation from the Chief Minister on Mathew’s rights violation notice. Now considering the reply given by the Chief Minister, the notice has been dismissed.
