Secretary of the RA Security Council Armen Grigoryan received the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri.
Noting the importance of Armenian-Iranian relations for both countries, the parties emphasized that the intensity of meetings at the highest and highest level testifies to the development of relations and effective interaction between the two countries.
Ambassador Zohuri noted that the Armenian-Iranian relations are a successful model of cooperation, which have undergone a noticeable qualitative change in recent years. Both sides emphasized the high level of trade turnover, which registered a significant increase during the past year.
Ambassador Zohuri expressed concern about the problems arising from the use of infrastructure connecting Iran to Armenia. Referring to the uninterrupted operation of the infrastructures connecting Iran to Armenia, Armen Grigoryan emphasized that Armenia is aware of the sensitivity of this issue for its Iranian partners and also attaches importance to the quick resolution of the issue.
Referring to the issue of cargo transportation from India to the Black Sea, the importance of Iran’s Chabahar port was emphasized on both sides, and it was also noted that Armenia is an important link on that road.
The parties discussed issues related to the activation of security, economic and energy cooperation between the two countries.
