The Iraqi Media Network holds an educational seminar to support the family against the scourge of drugs

The Women’s Affairs Department of the Iraqi Media Network, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs and the Naqaha Foundation, held an educational symposium to support the family against the scourge of drugs, sponsored by the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi.

The head of the women’s affairs department in the network, Israa Al-Attar, told the (INA): “The Women’s Affairs Department in the Iraqi Media Network, in cooperation with the (Recovery for Treating Drug Addiction) Foundation, held an educational symposium entitled (Supporting the Family Against the Scourge of Drugs), today, Tuesday, on The Great Hall of the Media Training Institute.
She explained, “The symposium comes as part of the educational campaign conducted by the Iraqi Media Network in all its aspects, and part of its national duty and its lofty media message towards society, and in implementation of government programs and strategies for a drug-free Iraq.”
She continued, “The symposium demonstrated the importance of the role of the media in highlighting the dangers of the drug scourge through all visual, audio and written means represented by the press, in addition to educational seminars in all institutions, schools and colleges to intensify efforts in combating this phenomenon that is devastating society, stressing the role of women in protecting their families and giving them Follow-up and care.
The symposium included several topics, in which Enas Karim, head of the (Naqha Foundation for Treating Drug Addiction), spoke about the many cases witnessed by the organization and the symptoms and dangers of drug abuse, which has claimed the lives of many teenagers and young people. It also included an explanation of the legal aspects and consequences towards users, and all government achievements in this field. In addition to the role of care and rehabilitation centers and the symptoms of addiction to educate families, it highlighted the importance of parents following up on their children and educating them against the scourge of drugs.”
