Turkish Trade Minister Omar Polat announced today, Monday, the agreement with the Iraqi side to enhance investment in 10 areas, while confirming that a joint bilateral trade forum will be held in Turkey soon, pointing out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries has reached 20 billion dollars annually.

Polat said in his speech during the Iraqi-Turkish Economic Forum, which was attended by the correspondent of the (INA): “The volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey has reached 20 billion dollars through joint efforts between the two countries,” noting that “the Turkish government is working to establish solid relations.” With Iraq.”
He added, “Since 2023, many meetings have begun between Iraqi delegations and President Erdogan to develop relations and strengthen meetings between the two parties,” noting that “we feel great enthusiasm between the two countries because of these meetings.”
He stated, “Iraqi-Turkish trade relations are important, and we hope that they will be at a higher level,” expressing his hope that “the partnership between the two countries will be strong and effective to address the problems facing the signing of joint agreements.”
He stated, “The Iraqi and Turkish sides agreed to support the work of the private sector in the two countries and to enhance investment in 10 fields, including industry, health, energy, culture, improving foreign relations, developing education in Iraq, and religious relations.”
He stated, “During the next two months, we will invite the Iraqi Minister of Trade to visit Turkey and hold a bilateral trade forum to strengthen relations between the two countries.”
