The RA government did not discuss with “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC the issue of re-installation of the main gas pipeline passing through Tavush marz. Artashes Gabrielyan, deputy general director of Gazprom Armenia, chief engineer, said this in response to Pastinfo’s inquiry.
It should be reminded that the main gas pipeline from Georgia to Armenia passes through the Voskepar road, which will also come under the control of Azerbaijan if the demand for the handover of 4 villages presented by Azerbaijan is met. Nikol Pashinyan has already announced his position on handing over those territories.
“Pastinfo” has sent a written request to “Gazprom Armenia” company, asking them to inform if the issue of moving the gas pipeline is being discussed, how many kilometers of new gas pipeline should be built, how long it will take, how much will the new gas pipeline cost? the construction of a new gas pipeline along the road, does the company consider it possible to implement such an investment project, or do they also expect financial support from the state?
In response, Deputy General Director Artashes Gabrielyan informed that such a question is not discussed.
“In response to your written request, we inform you that “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC did not discuss the issue of re-installation of the existing highway gas pipeline in the adjacent areas of the 4 villages that you raised,” Gabrielyan said and added, “The need for the construction of new highway gas pipelines” in this case, the amount of work required for the latter can be determined by the results of the collection of baseline data, and the amount of the required amount and the duration of the works can be determined by the results of the development of design-estimate documents.”
