The Judiciary through the Supreme Court of Preliminary Investigation declared unfounded the prosecutor’s request for 18 months of preventive detention against Betssy Chávez, and the former ministers Willy Huerta Olivas and Roberto Sánchez Palomino, investigated for rebellion and conspiracy against the State.
Likewise, Judge Juan Carlos Checkley imposed on the three defendants the measure of appearance with restrictions with rules of conduct, and the payment of an economic security of S / 100 thousand soles against Betssy Chávez, 80 thousand soles to Willy Huerta and 50 thousand soles to Roberto Sanchez.

The magistrate established that although there are serious elements of conviction that link the three to the crimes charged and the sentence to be imposed is more than four years, there is no danger of flight or obstruction of the investigation.
As it is remembered, the Prosecutor’s Office accuses the former ministers of being co-authors of the self-coup attempt that the former president, Pedro Castillo, tried to carry out on December 7, 2022.
