The Kremlin said today that it will not monitor the pre-election debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Reuters reported.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the debate was a matter for American voters.

Last week, the White House said Russian President Vladimir Putin should stop commenting on the US presidential election after Putin made an apparently joking comment about wanting Harris to win and mentioned her “infectious” laugh.

Peskov said Putin would watch the start of major Russian naval exercises from the Kremlin’s situation center today. He added that the exercises will take place in several oceans and that foreign partners will also participate in them, BTA writes.

More than 400 Russian warships, submarines and auxiliary vessels are taking part in the naval exercises, which also involve the Chinese navy, and will continue until September 16 in the Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea and Caspian Sea sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
